Fall Family Fun

Lori Krause • October 12, 2018

I love this time of year! I love the cooler temps, the colors of the leaves as they fall, and the things we do together as a family for fun.

I suppose our fall fun starts with family birthdays. Our son’s birthday is the end of August, two weeks later is my husband’s birthday, and then three weeks after my husband’s is our daughter’s birthday. All three have celebrated birthday’s at baseball games. Our daughter, by her choice, spent her 16th, her 18th and even her 21st birthday’s with family, at a Royals game! Our son spent at birthday watching the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland, and my husband watched the Angels in Anaheim.

There is also the annual trek to the pumpkin patch, but as the kids have gotten older it’s been harder and harder to get us together for the family fun. So, when we are able to get together, it’s important to me to preserve those memories.

Several years ago, I was involved with a local organization and helped with their fundraising. Of course, one of the perks was to see the items and experiences that came in to be auctioned off. One year, one of the live auction items was sideline passes and tickets to a Chiefs game. I knew that would be something we would all enjoy and made sure I was available to bid that night. I don’t remember how much I paid, but what we all remember is how we were able to get together and enjoy the experience of being on the sidelines for a Chiefs game!
