Happy Anniversary

How did you meet your significant other? Did you meet at church, the gym, or were you high school sweethearts? How about a blind date? My husband, Jim, and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary on October 21st. He was a blind date, but first a quick background about how we got here.

My now sister in law and I had gone to school together from 6th grade until I moved away in the middle of our sophomore year of high school. This is long before the internet and social media, so naturally we lost touch with one another. Many years later we ran into each other again and she convinces me I need to come over for dinner to catch up. She said, “By the way, you’d be perfect for my brother in law.” NO WAY was I going to be fixed up, especially coming out of a bad relationship, but I went to dinner anyway. He said when he saw me; he knew he would marry me. I said I knew if he called that we would have a good time, but I wasn’t going to wait around for him to call; two years later we were married.

Over last several weeks, I’ve talked about some of my family memories and the importance of preserving them. Join me on November 10th, from 4pm to 5pm, at Heartland Imaging in Martin City. Where I will explain the importance and give examples of how to preserve your precious family memories and how to tell your story.
